A TrueCoach alternative for the programming itself

TrueCoach is a coaching platform with a client app. RungGym takes over the part it leaves to you, writing the block, and gives clients a lighter private page.

TrueCoach and RungGym solve different problems. TrueCoach is a coaching platform: your clients get an app, you deliver workouts, track compliance and message them in one place. RungGym is not a branded-app platform; it is first of all a generator that writes the training block itself: exercise selection filtered on injuries and equipment, with sets, reps, rest and weekly progression dosed along the ACSM and NSCA guidelines. Clients do get a private link with their worksheet, a nutrition log, habits, check-ins, messages and booking, but no app in the app store. If your problem is delivering and tracking workouts in a native app, stay on a platform. If your problem is that you still write every block by hand, that is the part RungGym takes over.

What TrueCoach is

  • A coaching platform your clients log into, on web and on their phone
  • Workout delivery, logging and compliance tracking in one dashboard
  • Messaging and check-ins between you and the client
  • A workout builder where you assemble the programme yourself

The price table further down quotes TrueCoach as listed on its own pricing page on 17 October 2026, with a link to that page. Prices change without notice: check the source for what it costs today.

What RungGym does

RungGym builds the training block. You enter the client's goal, level, available equipment and any conditions to work around, and a complete block of 3 to 6 weeks comes back: exercise selection, sets, reps, rest and a progression percentage per week, with a source reference behind each dosage rule. You hand it over as a PDF and as a private weekly sheet. Around the block, each client's private link also holds a nutrition log against your calorie and macro targets, habits, weekly check-ins with progress photos, messages and self-booking of your 1-on-1 moments. It has no branded app in the app stores, no card payments from your clients, no group class scheduling and no integrations with other platforms.

Stay with TrueCoach if

  • Your clients need an app to log their sessions in
  • You want compliance reporting across every workout in one dashboard
  • You bill your clients through the same system you coach them in
  • You want to edit a programme exercise by exercise after building it

RungGym helps if

  • The builder saves you clicks, but you still make every programming decision yourself
  • You catch yourself reusing last month's template because writing a fresh block takes too long
  • You want an exercise contraindicated for a client's condition to be impossible to select, not merely avoidable
  • You want to be able to say where a dosage came from when a client or a physio asks

Most likely: alongside, not instead of

For most trainers the honest answer is not "switch" but "both". Keep the platform your clients already log into, and stop writing the block by hand: generate it in RungGym, then load it into the platform you deliver through. You pay for two things, and you get back the evening you used to spend programming.

Frequently asked questions

Is RungGym a replacement for TrueCoach?

Not in the same sense. TrueCoach delivers and tracks workouts through an app your clients use. RungGym gives the client a private link with their worksheet, a nutrition log, habits, check-ins, messages and self-booking, but it is a web page rather than an app in the app store, and it has no compliance dashboard. Most trainers who use both keep delivering through their platform and only move the programming.

Can I get the plan out of RungGym into TrueCoach?

You get every block as a PDF with the full exercise selection, sets, reps, rest and the progression per week. There is no direct integration between the two products, so loading it into another platform is manual work.

Why would I pay for two tools?

Only if the second one buys back more time than it costs. The test is simple: count the hours you spend writing programmes in a month. If that is under two hours, a platform's builder is enough and a second tool is not worth it.
