What is RungGym?

RungGym is software that a personal trainer uses to build a workout plan for each client. You enter goal, level, injuries and available equipment, and the software returns a 3 to 6 week block with progressive overload, exportable as a PDF. The dosage rules follow the 2026 ACSM position stand and the NSCA Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning.

Who is RungGym for?

RungGym is built for personal trainers and coaches who work with several clients and want an individual workout plan for each of them. You need no software background: you fill in your client's details and the engine assembles the plan.

Which scientific sources is RungGym based on?

The main sources are the 2026 ACSM position stand on resistance training (based on 137 systematic reviews with over 30,000 participants), the NSCA Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning, fifth edition, the 1998 position stand by Pollock and colleagues for warm-up and cool-down, and Stuart McGill's work on core training for low back pain. Every exercise rule in the database references a concrete source ID.

How exactly does the injury filtering work?

Every exercise in the database carries an explicit list of conditions it is advised against for, with a reason and a source. Tick a condition for a client and any exercise listing that condition is never selected for that plan. For low back pain the core selection additionally switches to McGill's Big 3.

What does RungGym cost?

Every plan is 50% off during the launch. Starter is €50 instead of €100 for 5 clients, Growth €80 instead of €160 for 10, Team €110 instead of €220 for 15, Pro €140 instead of €280 for 20, Studio €190 instead of €380 for 30 and Enterprise €280 instead of €560 for 50 clients. Paying annually costs 10 times the monthly price, so two months are free. The more clients, the lower the price per client, from €10 on Starter down to €5.60 on Enterprise.

Can I use RungGym outside Europe?

Yes. RungGym is web-based and works for trainers anywhere in the world. The interface is in English, prices are charged in euro, and the training guidelines are international because they come from the ACSM and the NSCA. Exercises are written in metric units, so weights appear in kilograms.

What happens when I hit my client limit?

You cannot add a new client until you upgrade. Your existing clients and plans keep working. The limit is enforced in the database itself, so you cannot get around it through the API either. The app shows a clear message with a link to the upgrade page.

Can I cancel monthly?

Yes. The subscription runs per month and you can stop at any time. There is no annual contract and no notice period.

How long is a training block?

A block is a mesocycle of 3 to 6 weeks. Within that block the load builds progressively, 5 percent per week by default with a cap of 25 percent. Afterwards you generate a new block, where the rotation across movement patterns brings in different exercises.

Does my client get their own login?

No, in this version RungGym is a tool for the trainer. You generate the plan and hand it to your client as a PDF, on paper or digitally. There is no client portal.

Does RungGym work if my client trains at home without equipment?

Yes. You tick the available equipment per client, and if that is bodyweight only, the entire plan is built from that. The 2026 ACSM position stand states explicitly that resistance bands, bodyweight exercises and home routines produce clear results.

Can I still edit the generated plan?

The plan is fully fixed and stored at generation time, so it does not change between two views or printouts. If you want a different result, you change the client's details — goal, equipment, injuries or frequency — and generate a new block.

How much time does RungGym save per client?

Writing a block by hand typically costs a trainer 30 to 60 minutes per client. Generating takes a few minutes, including entering the client details. With twenty clients getting a new block every six weeks, that is the difference between roughly twenty hours and just over two hours a month.

Questions about building a plan itself, separate from the software, are answered in the step-by-step guide to creating a workout plan.
