An Exercise.com alternative for programming, not the business
Exercise.com is fitness business software with branded apps and payments. RungGym is not that: it writes the training block, injuries excluded.
The short answer
Exercise.com is fitness business management software for gyms, studios and trainers: bookings, member management, CRM, payments, online delivery and custom-branded apps, with a workout plan creator among the tools. RungGym covers little of the business side: no CRM, member administration, class scheduling or client payments. It writes the training block for one client from goal, level, equipment and conditions, applies injuries as a hard exclusion and doses sets, reps, rest and weekly progression along the ACSM and NSCA guidelines, with a source per rule. If you run a facility or sell online programmes, keep Exercise.com. RungGym is only for the plan itself.
What Exercise.com is
- Fitness business management software for gyms, studios and trainers
- Bookings, check-ins, member and staff management
- CRM, assessments, email, SMS and push notifications
- Online delivery, payments and custom-branded apps, with a workout plan creator
No Exercise.com prices on this page: they change without notice, and a stale figure on our site would mislead you. Check Exercise.com's own site for what it costs today. The table further down compares RungGym with four other platforms, as listed on their own pricing pages on 17 October 2026.
What RungGym does
RungGym builds the training block. You enter the client's goal, level, available equipment and any conditions to work around, and a complete block of 3 to 6 weeks comes back: exercise selection, sets, reps, rest and a progression percentage per week, with a source reference behind each dosage rule. You hand it over as a PDF and as a private weekly sheet. Around the block, each client's private link also holds a nutrition log against your calorie and macro targets, habits, weekly check-ins with progress photos, messages and self-booking of your 1-on-1 moments. It has no branded app in the app stores, no card payments from your clients, no group class scheduling and no integrations with other platforms.
Stay with Exercise.com if
- You run a gym or studio and need member and staff administration
- Bookings, payments and invoicing live in the same system
- You sell programmes or memberships online through your own branded app
- Your CRM and lead handling are already built around it
RungGym helps if
- You are an independent trainer who needs the plans, not the business suite
- You want conditions and injuries applied as a hard exclusion filter
- You want each dosage rule shown with its ACSM or NSCA source
- You want a finished 3 to 6 week block, with weekly progression, as a PDF
Most likely: alongside, not instead of
Business software and a block generator do different jobs. If you run a facility or an online business on Exercise.com, RungGym replaces none of it. What it can do is take one task off your hands: writing the block for a client with conditions to work around. Enter the result into Exercise.com yourself, because the two are not integrated.
Frequently asked questions
Can RungGym manage my members or bookings?
No. RungGym holds clients to write their training blocks and follow them up. Booking is one to one only, there is no class scheduling, no card payments from clients and no app-store app; it is not a member-management tool.
Is RungGym a white-label app?
No. It is web-based and has no app-store app. The client gets a private link with their worksheet, nutrition log, habits, check-ins, messages and booking, installable to the phone home screen.
Does RungGym work with Exercise.com?
There is no integration. You export the block as a PDF and enter it into any other platform manually.
